Frequently Asked Questions
- How can I invite my friends to my Videoconference chat room?
-
Join your room then copy the “Invite your friends” html link at the top of the page. Paste this link inside emails, instant messages, social network profiles and more to invite your friends.
- Can I embed the chat room in my web page?
-
Yes you can. When logged on to your video chat room copy the “embed” link at the top of the page. Now paste this code inside your website and your chat room will be embedded there.
- What features do members get compared to non-members?
-
Members can allow more users in their room, have more video time, and they can also customize their video chat room to almost any color. Members can also add their own logo to the video chat room window.
- How can I kick out bad users from my room?
-
At the top right of your room click the “Moderator Link” to join your room as a moderator. You can then kick and ban bad users. Be sure and keep your moderator link private.
- Will my room ever expire?
-
Member rooms will never expire. If you don’t use your free room in 30 days then it will expire and you will have to create a new room link.
- Does Videoconference work with Apple Computers?
-
Yes. Videoconference works with Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux computers.
- What's Moderator Link?
-
This version of Videoconference allows you to moderate your chat room. Never share your Moderator Link with anyone unless they are a trusted user. Anyone who has this link can ban and kick anyone from your room.
- Why doesn’t the chat allow Unicode characters?
-
Videoconference does allow Unicode characters. To allow Unicode characters please remove these lines from the Videoconference embed code: <param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param> and wmode="transparent". These changes may remove some transparency features from the chat so the user interface does not look as good when embedded, but it will still be usable.
What is Videoconference?
Videoconference allows you to easily see, hear, and chat with people all over the world through a web page. Webcam users can broadcast streaming audio and video. No camera is required to see and hear people. Invite your friends and family to join you in a private room, or just hang out in the public video lobby and meet new people.
